The park includes the Barataria Preserve, Chalmette Battlefield and the French Quarter Visitor Center. Barataria Preserve offers more than 26,000 acres of wild Louisiana wetlands, hardwood forest, swamp, bayous, and marsh with trails, picnic areas, fishing, hunting, and wildlife viewing.
